Of Marginal Rates of Substitution and Korean women
The Econs midterm was a nightmare today. And this is Intro-Econs, for crying out loud. Lordy, what am I going to do when I have to take International Econs next sem? Dangdangdangdang, increase the volume of the famous premonition music please.
So what's it with women and Korean dramas nowadays? My mother is hooked on Da Chang Jin. Some show starring a round-faced woman with a perpetually wan face, beads of sweat dotting her kneaded eyebrows intense with concentration. And all she seems to do is attempt accupuncture with trembling fingers, move her deft fingers around the stove, and rattle off some ancient medical jargon involving ginseng/grasses of different sorts.
Yes, Da Chang Jin has taken over my television set. I hear the same dubbed Mandarin voice speak all the time; this is the only time I can recall Mandarin being spoken at home. Methinks homemakers and female fans alike just admire the unmistakeably feminine characteristics of Korean women; in the kitchen, in the garden, in the school, and haha in the bedroom as well I presume ;P
Excuse the rubbish I've just typed out. I need some outlet to throw the Econolingo out of my system, and goodness knows why it had to be Da Chang Jin. Of all things.
And because I know you love being mentioned in italics after each blogpost: Muchas gracias to you; for hot Gelare waffles, for being my loving driver (even though you refused to meet my friends!), for tucking me into bed, for my Ya Kun breakfast, and for seeing me to school.
